Happy Holidays -  have fun on The Sapphire Valley Resort “Frozen Falls” tube slope.

Frozen Falls tubing sessions are 1-hour 45-minutes each.    There are no advance sales, tickets are sold “day-of” only.  Tickets can be purchased at the Sapphire Valley Resort Community Center which opens daily at 8:00 AM.

Rates:

With Resort Amenity Card:    $19.50 per person per session

Without Amenity Card            $26.00 per person per session

To help expedite your tubing fun, download our “Waiver Liability” form.  Each person tubing must have a completed form in order to purchase a ticket.  Complete the form in the leisure of your home and bring it with you.  It’s a faster way to get in line.

Christmas Day Tubing

The Frozen Falls Tube Park is open for fun on Christmas Day.  Bring the entire family out for some snowy sliding on the slopes.

Tube Park Opens at 12:00 PM        Tube sessions are 1-hour 45-minutes each.

Tubing Slope Status Dec. 24, 2013

TUBING ONLY starting at 10:00 AM. 1 lane open.

The sessions last 1 hour and 45 minutes, and will have starting times at 10:00 12:00, &  2:00.

Due to excessive rain, the ski slopes will not be open today.  We are working on blowing fresh snow and hope to have the ski slope open by Christmas Day.

Revised Open Date for Ski Sapphire: Dec. 20!

We want the snow to be really deep and ready for all of you this Christmas - so - we are saving up for a Friday, Dec 20 opening!

Snow Tubing Cancelled

Unfortunately, our tubing hill is closed today. We will be opening again on Wednesday, December 18th. Hope to see you all here enjoying the holiday with us! Sorry for the inconvenience, mother nature just didn't want us to have fun today! Everyone have a great day, and try to stay warm and dry! 

SNOW TUBING THIS WEEKEND!!!!

The snow-tube hill will open Saturday morning (Dec. 14, 2013) at 10:00 AM.  Depending on weather, we're doing everything we can to be open 7-days a week.  If weather works against us, we'll still be open on Saturday the 14th, but will then close until Wednesday December 18, 2013 - at which time we will remain open.

Tickets for the Frozen Falls Tube Park are sold only on the day of your outing and can be purchased at the Sapphire Valley Resort Community Center.  The Community Center opens each morning at 8:00 AM.

RATES AND SCHEDULE
Rates for each guest at the Frozen Falls Tube Park are per tubing session.  Each session offers almost 2 hours of fun.  There will be six sessions per day this weekend.

Rates are:
SVMA Amenity Card Holders:  $19.50
Public :  $26.00

Tubing Sessions:

Tuesday, October 22nd
In telling you about the availability of flu vaccinations at the Community Center Oct. 22, 2013, we inadvertently said those flu vaccinations would be covered by “Medicaid” – we meant to say “Medicare.”
We do apologize for any confusion.
These vaccination will be administered at the Community Center on October 22, 2013 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon.  The cost is $25.00 (normally $31.94).  Cash or check only.
If you are insured by Medicare, there is no cost since Ingles will file your insurance for you – just bring your card.   In order that Ingles has adequate supplies of flu vaccine available, please respond to the Community Center at 828.74.-7663 no later than Saturday October 19th. Special pricing of $25 per shot is offered for those paying cash (no insurance will be filed).

ADVENTURES IN BEAR COUNTRY beginning at 7 pm in the Sapphire Valley Community Center. Adventurer and author of “Bears We’ve Met,” Joel Zachry shares his love of bears and amazing stories of bear encounters over decades of hiking and traveling. Come learn more about this iconic creature and how to live responsibly in bear country.  

Live music by "The Grateful Dudes" Trio. This is being sponsored by the B.E.A.R. Task Force, Sapphire Valley Master Association and Mountain Wildlife Outreach.

Bear at Red Bird Golf Scramble

Apparently this bear wanted to participate in the Thursday scramble! Showing up just in time for the wine and dinner...

Shadow of the Bear!!!

A Sapphire Valley area fall treat is the annual ‘shadow of the bear’! This phenomenon is about to take place near Whiteside Mountain where the autumn light creates a shadow shaped like a bear.

The shadow of the bear shows up from mid-October through early November as the sun sets behind Whiteside Mountain between Sapphire Valley and Highlands.

It's best seen on clear days around 5:30 p.m., with the show lasting for about a half-hour. Tourists and photographers hoping to see it often gather at the Rhodes Big View overlook along Highway 64, a little more than 5 miles from the Resort.
